PUNJAB NEWS- Finance department starts whole work online

Chandigarh, July 1, 2013: Finance Department of Punjab has set a new milestone by starting the whole work online from today, which would prove to be a major step to ensure paperless administration in releasing funds to various departments in the entire state.

Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister today said that as the training process to all concerned officials/ employees has been completed, the department has started to receive all fund proposals from various departments only online. He said that earlier all District Treasuries have already started online payments to the all kinds of beneficiaries from 1, April 2013. The Minister further said that Punjab was the first state in the country to initiate this process to eliminate the corruption at bottom level and to ease out the delivery of financial services to the masses.  

He said that as part of the e-sarkar project a CM Plan schemes monitoring system has been implemented on IWDMS under which the facilities have been provided to all departments to submit all cases for release of funds online to the department of Finance. It has also been decided that the no physical files would be required to be submitted and necessary instruction has been issued by the Punjab Government to all the departments, the minister added.

To assist the departments in this regard TCS has also deputed their personnel in the administrative department to implement this procedure successfully, he added. He further said that all concerned department officers have been told to ensure smooth change over to the new procedure.
