Punjab instructs departments to hold departmental promotion committee meetings on time

Chandigarh, July 10, 2014: The Punjab Government has issued instructions to all the departments to hold meetings of Departmental Promotion Committee on time so that eligible officials/officers could get their promotions timely against the vacant posts.
Disclosing this here today official spokesperson said that instructions have been issued that concerned officers would be held responsible for not holding DPC on time.
He said that the notice for the departmental promotion committee should be sent one month before the meeting and agenda note should be sent 15 days prior to the meeting. He said that departments should ensure that complete agenda note, check list and other complete documents are sent on time to the personnel department duly signed by the competent officers to avoid legal complications at later stage.
He said that in compliance the policy of the central government the meetings of the departmental promotion committee could be held before the month of October every year after the up-dation of records by the cadre controlling authority regarding the vacant posts upto the end of the year
He further clarified that personnel department would not entertain the cases that are not submitted timely.
