Ludhiana, November 2, 2014: Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali has said that the state government is committed for developing Ludhiana as the Tourism Hub of the state. He said that several new projects to promote tourism in the city are underway, which would attract investment worth hundreds of crores.
He said this while inaugurating an adventure sports academy, here today. This adventure sports academy would organise parasailing, paragliding, rock climbing and other such adventure sports for adventure enthusiasts of the city.
Ayali said that earlier the city residents had to visit other states for enjoying adventure sports activities but now they can enjoy them at their own doorstep. He said that this adventure sports academy has been set up under the guidance of Capt. Sudesh Kumar, who has been into this profession of adventure sports and mountaineering for the last several years.
He said that the trial of paragliding and parasailing was carried in the fields of village Jhammat while the actual academy would be set up near Mattewara. He said that the state government is in the process of setting up a Rs 27 croreLion Safari project, a Casino, a Rs 600-crore Recreational Amusement Park, besides several other projects at Mattewara.
He said that it is the dream of our Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badalthat industrial city of Ludhiana is developed as tourism hub of the state. "Our government is open to all kinds of projects that promote tourism which would not only create recreational facilities but would also provide employment to thousands of youth," he said.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Taranjit Singh Nimana, Inderpal Singh Bindra, Inderjit Singh Dimple, besides several others.
