Punjab dismisses agriculture development officer from service

Chandigarh, July 23, 2014: Punjab Government has dismissed the services of Parminider Singh Agriculture Officer under the Punjab Civil Services Rules (Punishment & Appeal), 1970. Punjab Public Service Commission has also given approval to dismiss Agriculture officer a resident of village Oothian of Amritsar district.
Disclosing this here today Official Spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that dismissed official was chargesheeted on the allegations of keeping the department in dark by going abroad without the permission of the competent authority and remaining absent from duty unlawfully. The Spokesperson said that chargesheet was sent at the residential address of the officer through registered post but post office returned the letter saying that this person had gone abroad.  The Director Agriculture, Punjab issued a public notice in the newspapers asking the officer to receive the chargsheet with in one month period and also asked to submit his reply in one month’s time. The officer despite of receiving the chargesheet did not give his reply.
The Spokesperson said that after the process, allegations in chargesheet were regularly examined by the inquiry officer and the officer was proven guilty. After completion of this process dismissed officer was asked to give his clarification but the postal department sent back the letter saying that this person does not live at the given address.
