Ex Vajra Sahayata to be held at Jalandhar on Feb 26

Jalandhar, February 22, 2014: Vajra Corps in coordination with civil administration is organising an exercise Vajra Sahayata at Jalandhar on 26 Feb 2014. This exercise is being organised as part of preparedness to tackle terrorist threat to cause panic or casualty by explosion of dirty bomb in populated area and garner media attention. The aim is to coordinate the actions of civil administration, security agencies and Army Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) include NDRF teams to practice drills, procedures and response of army, civil administration and other agencies.
Rogue elements using chemical, biological, radiological means to cause large scale damage and human casualty cannot be ruled out. The only way to safeguard against this threat is for civil administration and all security agencies to remain prepared, 24x7, to face the challenge. Towards this end, a mock drill, Exercise Vajra Sahayata is being conducted by Vajra Corps on 26 Feb 2014 at the premises of Army Public School, Jalandhar Cantt.
