Punjab CM thanks people for reposing faith in SAD-BJP alliance in municipal elections

Pats state election commission, civil and police administration for ensuring free and fair polls

Chandigarh, February 26, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today thanked the people of state for reposing unflinching faith and commitment in progressive and result oriented policies of the SAD-BJP alliance government by ensuring the thumping victory of alliance in the Municipal Corporation elections.

The Chief Minister said that with these results, the SAD-BJP government further dedicates itself to building a new Punjab, free from poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and social evils and put it on the high growth trajectory. Badal said that this superb victory has filled us with even greater humility, responsibility towards the aspirations of the people and accountability to their commands. He said that these results should not be merely construed as a victory in civic polls but it actually reflects the resentment amongst the voters against the malicious campaign unleashed by the Congress to defame the hard working and resilient Punjabis.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister once again thanked all the workers, leaders, office bearers and rank and file of SAD-BJP for working day and night to ensuring this thumping win for the ruling alliance in these polls.  He also expressed gratitude to the people for reposing faith in the ethos of democratic values by exercising their franchise freely. Badal also complimented the State Election Commission, civil and Police administration for ensuring free and fair polls.
