Chandigarh, April 1, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today felicitated the people of the State especially the Jain community on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
In a message, the Chief Minister called upon the different sections of the society to follow the philosophy and teachings of Lord Mahavira, who propagated the principles of simple living and high thinking to achieve the ultimate goal of salvation to the humanity. Badal said that the teachings of Lord Mahavira foruniversal brotherhood, communal harmony and peace were still relevant in the present materialistic society.
The Chief Minister appealed the people to follow the path shown by Lord Mahavir to celebrate this auspicious occasion with religious fervor to further strengthen the secular and social bonds of our society.
