Punjab CM to inaugurate AMBICON 2013 on November 16

Ludhiana, November 12, 2013: AMBICON 2013, the 21st national conference of Association of Medical Biochemists of India is being held for the first time in state of Punjab, from November 15 to 17 at Hotel Gulmor, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana, informed Dr Bharti Uppal, organising Chairperson. This year Department of Biochemistry, CMC Ludhiana is hosting the conference.

This conference is an annual event of scientific deliberations of eminent national and international faculty of Medical Biochemistry, likely to be attended by over 500 delegates from all over India by medical colleges faculty, Heads of leading Laboratories and Postgraduate students.

The Inauguration is scheduled for November 16 at 11 AM by Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab.

The topics of interest include Adding Value to Lab Medicine by Dr. Graham Beastall, President IFCC on 15th November. Other key topics are Quality Control in Laboratories, Recent Advances in Cardiology, Endocrinology and Renal disorders as related to Lab Medicine. The conference is preceded by three hands on workshops on Bioinformatics and lab medicine. Nanotechnology and soft skills in medical education.

Dr A.G. Thomas , Director CMC has said that the scientific sessions shall go a long way in paving the path to bridge the gap between a clinician and clinical laboratory personnel. Dr S. M. Bhatti, principal CMC said that making medical education more communicative shall help the young doctors in their patient doctor, laboratory personnel clinician and student teacher relationships.
