PULSE POLIO DRIVE FOR CHILDREN IN AGE GROUP OF 0-5 YEARS STARTS
DRIVE INAUGURATED BY ADDITIONAL CHIEF SECRETARY HEALTH SATISH CHANDRA Ludhiana, March 10, 2019: For making the children aged 0-5 years free from polio disease, pulse polio drive was started in the district today. This drive was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Mr Satish Chandra by administering polio drops to children at Mother Child Hospital near Vardhman, here today. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinderpal Singh Sidhu, State Immunisation Officer Dr JV Singh, DHO Dr Jasvir Singh, DFPO Mr Gagan Sharma, Dr SP Singh, Dr Manjit Singh SMO, Dr Mahinder Singh, Mr Gurwinder Singh Sandhu SDO Punjab Health System Corporation, Dr Ramesh Kumar from DMCH, Dr Amita Jain SMO, Dr Seema Kaushal, Dr Rahul, Dr Navjot, besides several others. Dr Satish Chandra also took a round of the hospital, interacted with the staff and issued necessary directions. He also assured that there would be no shortage of staff so that people get best healthcare services. He appealed to all parents to ensure that their children in the age group of 0-5 years should be administered polio drops. He also directed the departments to coordinate with health department so that no child in 0 to 5 years age-group is left out. He also visited Subhash Nagar, Giaspura, Shimlapuri, Civil Surgeon Office and CHC Urban. It is pertinent to mention that this pulse polio drive would continue for next 5 days.
