PUCA demanded Post Matric Scholarship disbursement

Ludhiana, March 10, 2016: Unaided colleges of Punjab are in huge financial crisis as Punjab government didn’t disburse the money for Post Matric Scholarship scheme. Due to nonpayment/delayed payments to the colleges, the colleges as well as the students and their parents are facing problems.
Punjab Unaided Colleges association (PUCA) demands for the disbursement of amount to the colleges for Post Matric Scholarship as soon as possible.
Finance secretary PUCA, Manmohan Garg said, “Post Matric Scholarship amount for 2014-15 is not fully disbursed and in 2015-16 also the first semester is almost over and a single penny has not been released yet.”
PUCA president Dr. Anshu Kataria says, “In Punjab OBC Students has not paid single penny since last many years while Himachal Pradesh, Bihar etc are paying full reimbursement of tuition fees to the OBC students.”
It is pertinent that due to non disbursement of payments of Post Matric Scholarship, the future of SC/ST and OBC students is in dark. Private Colleges are also helpless due to poor polices of state government.
