A Personality Development Workshop being organised at HMV Collegiate School, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, May 11, 2016: The new session at HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School started with a three day Orientation and Personality Development Workshop. Incharge HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School Mrs.Sunita Dhawan welcomed all the students. Principal Dr.Mrs.Ajay Sareen congratulated everyone for the new session of collegiate school. Dean Academics Dr.Meenakshi Syal told the students about various courses available in the college. Dean Student Council Mrs.Archana Kapoor told them about moral value based education imparted in the college. She said that morning assembly is a regular feature in the college which plays a great role in personality development. Dean Student Council Mrs.Neety Sood told the students about the importance of discipline and said that discipline is the backbone of every organization.

On the second day of the workshop, a session on personality development and dramatics was organized. Dr. Ashmeen Kaur of Psychology department told the students about personality traits. She said that every person has some unique qualities. These qualities prosper with confidence and hard work. Dr. Nidhi Bal told the students about Theatre and Dramatics. Under her guidance, theatre artists of the college Ms. Rajwinder and Ms. Rupinder gave demonstration of Nukkad Natak, Skit and Play. The students enjoyed these demos to the fullest. Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur of Punjabi Deptt. told the students about societies and clubs of the college. Rupinder and Jaspreet gave a dance performance. Principal Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of the teachers and said that this workshop will raise the confidence level of the students.

In the concluding session, a session on Happiness and Zumba and Masala Bhangra was organized. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen said that we should feel proud being a woman. She said that this workshop was an endeavour to improve the skills of the students. Everyone has qualities, the need is to improve those skills.

Head of Psychology Deptt. Dr. Jasbir Rishi conducted a session on Happiness. She said that happiness is an inner thing. We should also remember our parents and family. Family has much importance in our life. Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop told the students about Youth Festival and extra curricular activities. She said that giving right direction to the energy is necessary. Mr. Aftaab from Dancing Shooj Dancing school and Ambassador of Zumba and Masala Bhangra in the city, performed a dance with his group. He also made the students learn the Zumba steps. Principal Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen gave the badges to the class representatives. In SSC I Arts, Nikita Sohi, Mandeep Kaur in Medical, Liza in Non Medical and Yukti in Commerce were choosen as C.R. In SSC II, Jasleen Kaur in Arts, Rajni in Medical, Lakshita in Non Medical and Supriya in Commerce were given badges of C.R. On this occasion, Dr. Jyoti Mittu, Mrs. Asha Gupta, Dr. Nidhi Kochhar and Dr. Anjana Bhatia were also present.
