PU organizes workshop on Career in Languages

Chandigarh, January 31, 2019: The Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a workshop on Careers in Languages, here today, at Department of English and Cultural Studies, PU for the Students of all Languages English, Hindi, Panjabi, Sanskrit, German, Russian, Tibetan, Chinese, Urdu and French. Around 250 students attended. Careers in Languages was delivered by Prof. Rana Nayyar who gave a critical survey of the main careers available for language post graduates. He received a standing ovation. Opportunities in the World of Newspapers was the topic of Ms. Arshdeep session. Being a journalist at the Hindustan Times, she contributed several important insights. Ms. Suditi Jindal, freelance soft skills trainer and author spoke on Creative Writing and Employment. Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Department of Hindi spoke on Translation and Employment, enlightening the participants about training and opportunities in translation. The workshop will continue on February 1 with more eminent experts. The day ended with lively and fruitful interaction.
