Prestigious personalities reaching IKG PTU for Babasaheb Ambedkar 6th national seminar

Joint Committee of IKGPTU & State Government checked the arrangements & briefed all to media
Jalandhar, October 20, 2016: IKGPTU is hosting national seminar which is scheduled to take place on Friday October 21 in its premises. Renowned thinker and intellectuals from all over India will participate in this seminar. IKGPTU organizing committee and the government's divulged the details of the seminar with the media in a press conference today. They shared details about the joint approach of the committee constituted by the state government and the university in organizing this seminar as well as reviewed its preparations.

Addressing a press conference, the government's Committee Co-coordinator Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, a former legislator said that many prominent speakers like RB Burman, Chairman , National statistical Commission, Justice CL Thool, Chairman Maharashtra SC/ST Commission, Government of Maharashtra, Sh. P.Udaya Kumar, Director, National Small Industries Corporation of Planning and Marketing, New Delhi, Dr Sarabjit Singh, Assistant Professor, Panjab University Chandigarh, Sh. MT Wakode, Director Khadi and Village Industries Commission Maharashtra will present their views. This function is dedicated to the life of Baba Sahib and his vision on the economic development of the nation based on their participation and academic aspects.

The Keynote address on the seminar will be presented by Honorable Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Punjab. Dr. Atwal was elected for the first time in Dakha for the state Assembly in 1977. After that he was elected MP from Ropar in Eighth Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, he was again elected from Kalan constituency in 1997 and unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. He has been bestowed "The Asian Guild Special International Award 2012" in November, 2012 in the House of Lords (British Parliament) by the Asian Guild of England for contributing in Rural Primary Education

Sh. Rajesh Bagha, the Chairman SC / ST commission Punjab while addressing the press disclosed that Mr. RB Burman a former executive director of the Reserve Bank of India will also present his views. Barman is a former executive director at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and holds a master’s degree in statistics and a PhD in economics. He was the vice-chairman of the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics, Bank for International Settlements, and member of the International Data Forum. Currently, he is adjunct faculty at the C.R. Rao Advanced Institute for Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, Hyderabad. Presently he is contributing his services as Chairman of the National Statistical Commission.

Justice CL Thool, Chairman, Maharashtra SC / ST. Commission will also be an important speaker on the occasion. He has played an important role in the disposal of thousands of cases during his tenure. He has advised the Maharashtra government on the establishment of eight Speedy Trial Court in eight Revenue Divisions of Maharashtra.

Dr. Sarabjit Singh Assistant professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh, well-known scholar and thinker will also present his views. He has a long teaching experience to his credit. He began his teaching career from government college at Chandigarh and is now working as Associate professor at the Punjab University, Chandigarh

Another dignitary Mr. M.T. Wakode, director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Maharashtra who has played a significant role in promoting the rural industry during his tenure will also be a part of this seminar. He has been promoting Khadi and rural industry as well as been promoting economic potential in rural areas. With this venture, where one side is encouraging our indigenous products, on the other hand, also are creating tremendous potential for employment in rural areas.

Mr. P.Uday Kumar, marketing director of planning at the National Small Industries Corporationwill also be playing a key role in this seminar. To encourage small enterprises, the National Small Industries Corporation has taken initiatives to get the financial support available. He firmly believes that the country is capable of playing a significant role in the economic development of small enterprises.

It is worth mentioning here that all these renowned personalities will share a common platform through this seminar to discuss the vision of Babasaheb Dr. B. R Ambedkar and will ensure to fulfill his dreams of economic development of the nation.
