Prof. Dinesh K. Gupta assumes charge of Dean of University Instruction of Panjab University

Chandigarh, June 7, 2016: Professor Dinesh K. Gupta today assumed the charge of Dean of University Instruction of Panjab University.
Prof Gupta has been Professor at University Business School (UBS) since 1998. A PU lumnus, Prof Gupta has rich teaching, administrative and research experience of more than three decades. He has earlier served as Dean Alumni Relations, PU; Dean, Faculty of Business Management & Commerce; Chairman, University Business School; Director, PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana; Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell; and Chief, University Employment and Guidance Bureau.
A gold medallist and distinction holder of the 1982 Master of Commerce Programme of PU, Prof Gupta holds Ph.D. in the area of Human Resource Accounting. He has expertise in the areas of Strategic Cost Management, Management Control Systems, Valuation of Intangibles, Corporate Financial Reporting and Spirituality at Workplace.
Prof Gupta maintains close association with leading management thinkers and has trained executives of globally competitive companies.
Prof Gupta is the 40th DUI of PU at Chandigarh. He is the third former Chairperson of UBS to hold this august office. Prior to him, Prof TN Kapoor and Prof S.C. Vaidya from UBS served as DUI from 1979-80 and 2008-10, respectively. Prof TN Kapoor also served as 9th Vice Chancellor of PU from 1994-2000.
