Chandigarh, April 22, 2015: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Sikander Singh Maluka has directed to ensure proper viewing or listening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on Panchayat Divas i.e April 24 for all elected representatives of PRIs. It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister will address a select gathering of elected representatives of PRIs at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, between 10 am to 11.30 am , which will be telecast live both on Doordarshan and All India Radio.
Maluka further asked the departmental officers to arrange suitable and convenient place as well as television and radios for this special event for elected representatives so that they could listen as well as understand the vision of Prime Minister for overall development of rural areas.
He further informed that on this occasion, the Prime Minister would honour one Zila Parishad (Rs. 30 lac), 2 block samities (Rs. 20 lac each) and 6 panchayats ( Rs. 5 lac each) from Punjab on Panchayat Divas.
