Appeal for linking Aadhar Number with EPIC data

Chandigarh, March 17, 2015: The Election Commission of India (ECI) with the prime objective of bringing a totally error free, and authenticated electoral roll, has decided to launch a comprehensive programme i.e. "National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP).

During this programme the following activities will be done:

•           Linking and authentication of EPIC data of electors with Aadhar data of UIDAI,

•           Voluntary disclosure of multiple entries in electoral roll.

•           Correction of errors in electoral roll or EPIC

•           Improvement of image quality of an elector.

During the programme, the electors have been given facility to feed his/her Aadhar number Mobile Number and E-mail ID with the help of EPIC number through the following methods:-

•           By using National Voters Service Portal (http://nvsp.in). Election Commission website i.e.http://eci.gov.in has a link for this portal.

•           Sending SMS to 51969 in the format

          ECILINK<space>EPIC_Number<space>AADHAAR Number

•           By making a call to State call centres at toll free Number 1950 and dictate the details.

•           By submitting the details of Aadhar number and EPIC number in a hard copy of duly filled up Form along with photocopy of both the documents, namely, EPIC and Aadhar letter/card to DEO, ERO, AERO, BLO, V.F.C., E- Service Centre & V.L.E. Centre.

•           Door to Door Survey through Booth Level Officers for Collection of Aadhaar No., Mobile No., E-mail ID of electors and seeding in software at ERO level on day to day basis and Correction in electors Detail through Form 8 from 12.04.2015 to 31.05.2015

Special camps will be organized at the Polling Stations Level for the above mentioned activities on12.04.2015, 10.5.2015, 14.6.2015 and 5.7.2015 for this purpose.

Caution: Registration as a voter in two places is an offence under R.P.Act 1950.

Bye-election schedule for 107-Dhuri Assembly Constituency

 

1.	Date of issue of  notification	:	17.03.2015(Tuesday)
2.	Last date for making nominations	:	24.03.2015(Tuesday)
3.	Date of scrutiny of nominations	:	25.03.2015(Wednesday)
4.	Last date for withdrawal of candidature	:	27.03.2015(Friday)

2.                               Hours of poll will be from 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.

 

3.                               Nomination papers are to be filed with the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dhuri  between the hours of 11 O’clock in the forenoon and  3 O’clock in the afternoon on any day other than a public holiday from 17th March, 2015 to 24^th March, 2015.

 

4.                               21st  March, 2015 being a Saturday is not a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881; therefore, nomination papers can be presented to the Returning Officer on that day.

 

5.                               22nd March, 2015 being a Sunday is a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881; therefore, nomination papers cannot be presented to the Returning Officer on that day.

 

6.                               23^rd March, 2015 being a Martyrdom Day S. Bhagat Singh Ji is not  a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881; therefore, nomination papers can be presented to the Returning Officer on that day.
