Photo voter slips to every voter by 2nd November: EC

Dharamshala, October 31, 2017: Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, ECI Umesh Sinha in video conference with Deputy Commissioners and CEO today reviewed poll preparedness in the state for Vidhan Sabha elections-2017. He directed the District Election Officers to ensure that photo voter slips were distributed to each and every voter in the state by 2nd November,2017 through booth level officers. If elector is not found at the given address on 1st and 2nd November, the slips will be delivered on 3rd November.
“In case, elector does not find photo voter slip, it should not be presumed that he has lost right to vote. Voter may exercise franchise showing EPIC or any alternative document notified by the Commission,”said Umesh Sinha.
He advised that those electors, who do not receive photo voter slips by 3rd November, may contact their respective District Election Office in their districts or CEO. “Voters can also dial toll free number 1950 for any information in this matter,” he added.
