Thyroid testing camp at press club

Guwahati: The city based Dispur Hospital will conduct one more health camp for thyroid tests on December 9 at Guwahati Press Club (GPC). The Saturday camp will start at 3 pm and conclude by 5 pm, where the participants can give blood samples for testing thyroid levels.
The health analysts narrate that every fourth Indian suffers today from thyroid disorders, which often causes weakness, fatigue, depression, weight gain etc. They also declare that the thyroid disorder symptoms are normally subtle and often missed during diagnosis. But with early diagnosis and treatment, thyroid can be managed successfully.
The participants, including those who attended the November 25 camp (of Dispur Hospital) and gave blood samples will get an opportunity to consult with a concerned doctor on December 16 at the press club premises.

The last week’s OPD clinic (on December 2), organized under the series of ‘Evening with a Doctor’ programs for the benefit of press club members along with their dependants, was graced by Chennai based senior orthopaedic &spine surgeon Dr Appaji Krishnan (SIMS Hospital).
Till date, physicians from Apollo Chennai Hospital, Manipal Bangalore Hospital, Fortis Hospital Bangalore, Medanta the Medicity Hospital, Down Town Hospital, GNRC Hospitals, Nemcare Hospital, Hayat Hospital, Ayursundra Hospital, Sun Valley Hospital, Barthakur Clinic, Wintrobe Hospital etc have attended the weekly media camps.
