Jalandhar, March 6, 2013: Canada based NRI and philanthropic  Sukhi Bath, under the aegis of his charitable group- Sukhi Bath Sewa Club- on Wednesday solemnised mass marriages of as many as six needy couples at a simple albeit impressive ceremony held in village Pataran in Punjab.

The club has organised hundreds of such marriages in the past, and today was just another attempt to underline its intent and resolve to continue its endeavor in an unrelenting manner to bring smiles on the faces of young needy couples, Sukhi Bath said.

Besides clothes and jewelry, NRI Sukh Bath distributed all essential goods and household items worth Rs 1 lakh to each of the newly wed. Before the six lucky couples tied the nuptial knot, the families of the bride and the groom were ceremoniously welcomed at a local marriage palace. The rituals of ‘Anand Karaj’ were performed at the residence of Sukhi Bath.

A feeling of unequivocal love and happiness gripped all those present on the occasion as the newlywed stepped into a whole new world of excitement and hope.

Speaking on the occasion, Sukhi Bath said, “It gives me immense solace, beyond everything, to see smiles on the faces of the young couple. There’s nothing better than the karma of Kanya Daan.” The club is also heavily involved in other charitable works including health check up camps, eye camps etc.
