Technical Education Department cancels affiliations of 20 institutions

Chandigarh, August 25, 2013: The Technical Education Department cancelled the affiliation of 20 institutions affiliated with State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) whereas the 5 institutions having affiliation with National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) has been suspended and case for cancellation of their affiliation has been forwarded to DGET.

Disclosing this here today, Anil Joshi, Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, Punjab said that they have recently reviewed the working of art and craft teachers training institutions affiliated with SCVT.  He said that during review machinery and faculty was found lacking in 20 institutions and admissions in 5 NCVT institutions have been barred.

He said that the institutions whose affiliation has been cancelled are Guru Teg Bahadur Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute,Samana, Prime Technical Training Institute,Sangrur, Mata Gujri Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute,Patran, P.R.G Art & Craft, Chanalon, Kurali, Honey Art & Craft Institute,Patiala, Malwa Art & Craft Institute, Sangrur, Anand College of Art & Craft, Majitha, Gyan Jyoti ITC, Chunni Kalan, Natraj Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute, Barnala., International Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute, Sirhind, Fateh Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute, Abohar. Sant Baba Nidhan Singh Art &b Craft Institute, Nadalon, Teh Garshankar. Punjab Medical Institute Art & Craft P.M., Jalandhar. National Art & Craft Institute,Sangrur, Gian Sagar Art & Crafts Institute, Amritsar, Akal Kirpa ITC, Malout, Sri Satya Sai Art & Craft Teacher Training Institute, Alamgarh Bye Pass, Teh Abohar, Vishwamitter Institute For Technical Education, Batala., Lala Lajpat Rai ITC, Dhudike, Moga and Guru Har Krishan ITC, Vill. Rasoolpur Bate, Purana Salla Th. & Distt. Gurdaspur. 

Joshi further said that to maintain the high standard of training new instructions have been issued to the technical institutions and the institutions found violating the norms would be brought to task.
