Ferozepur, October 14, 2012: On a call of Confederation of All India Petroleum Dealer, all the petrol pumps in Ferozepur district will operated for a limited period from 8 AM to 8 PM with effect from 15th October, 2012, stated S. P. Khera, President of District Ferozepur Petroleum Dealer's Association.

The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the association in which Ajay Aggarwal, general secretary, Kamaljeet Nagpal, secretary, Harish Bajaj, vice president, Sanjeev Narula, treasurer and Daljit Singh were present.

The association has decided to register their protest against the indifferent attitude of the government by restricting to limited working hours, with an attempt to reduce their expenditure.  The petroleum products have been increased may a time but there is no increase in the commission of the dealers and it is not viable to run the petrol pumps in the present circumstances.

President said that Apurva Chandra Committee had take cognizance of all the expenses incurred by the dealers on electricity, salary, and uniforms to employees, taxes and evaporation losses and accordingly fixed the volume-based commission.

He further said, for the last so many years, the demand of the petroleum dealers to increase the commission proportionately,  is being ignored and sometime back it was decided to solve the issue by appointing Chandra Committee.  He particularly informed that this committee had given its report in favour of the petroleum dealers, which has not been implemented by the government so far.
