Jalandhar, August 5, 2015: A three week Personality Development course was inaugurated at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar with an interactive session on ‘Positive Attitude’ by Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. At the onset, the course co-ordinator Ms Satinder Kaur from PG Dept. of English accorded a floral welcome to the first resource person Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. She also welcomed the faculty and students present on the occasion. This is the eighth year in continuation of the course which is a regular feature at KMV. The number of students enrolled for the course is 92. Prof. Atima Sharma gave many tips for developing a Positive attitude. She advised Positive self talk and visualization coupled with positive friends to attain inner peace, happiness and also to develop healthy habits to remain fit. As the course progresses towards its peak and then culmination resource persons from various faculties of the college will deliver discourses on diverse topics. Present on the occasion were Dr. Poornima, Dr. Updesh Kaur, Mrs. Seema Jain, Dr. Madhumeet, Mrs. Gurjot, Ms. Seema Arora, and Dr. Deepika. In the days to follow Mrs. Satinder Kaur will give a talk on Soft Skills vs Hard Skills. Mrs. Seema Jain will teach correct pronunciation. Dr. Madhumeet will prepare the students to face interviews while Mrs. Vanila will teach how to write an impressive resume. Ms. Seema Arora will deliver a talk about making Effective Presentation. Mrs. Ashoo Bajaj from Dept of Physical Education will give useful tips on physical fitness while Dr Poornima will help them develop Public Speaking Skills. Dr. Updesh Kaur will talk about Problem Solving Skills. Mrs Neeti Kapoor from Dept. of Home Sc. will teach Table Manners. Dr. Deepika will help to students to set definite goals in life. Mrs. Gurjot will talk about Leadership Qualities. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma congratulated the course co-ordinator and the resource persons for having run the extremely beneficial course for seven years in a row and wished them all success in the eight session of the course.
