94 DCSA Students Placed: PU Computer Science Department Secures 84.7% Placements with Rs. 8 LPA Highest Offer

The Department of Computer Science & Applications (DCSA), Panjab University, has recorded an impressive 84.7% placement rate for its 2023–2025 batch. Out of the eligible students, 94 have already been placed, with 72.97% securing on-campus placements and 11.73% through off-campus opportunities.

Chandigarh, June 5, 2025: The Department of Computer Science & Applications (DCSA), Panjab University, has recorded an impressive 84.7% placement rate for its 2023–2025 batch. Out of the eligible students, 94 have already been placed, with 72.97% securing on-campus placements and 11.73% through off-campus opportunities.

The highest Cost to Company (CTC) offered stood at Rs. 8 Lakh Per Annum (LPA), while the average CTC was Rs. 5.76 LPA. A total of 21 companies participated in the placement process, with 14 actively recruiting, including six first-time recruiters. Top recruiters included Edifecs, Infosys, ChicMic, Jungleworks, and KeyMouseIT.

Established in 1983, the department has a proud legacy, with alumni placed in a number of globally reputed organisations such as MediaTek, American Express, JTG, and Deloitte.

Lauding the placements, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig said: “The remarkable placement results reflect the Department’s commitment to academic excellence and alignment with evolving industry standards. By proactively bridging the gap between academia and real-world demands, DCSA is nurturing future-ready professionals in the dynamic field of Computer Science and Applications.”

 

DCSA Chairperson, Dr. Anuj Sharma said that the department holds the legacy of providing comprehensive year-round rigorous placement preparations. “We are confident that more students will be placed in the coming weeks, as the process is still ongoing”, he added.

Prof. Meena Sharma, Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, remarked that the placement outcomes reflect the institute's dedication to academic excellence and industry collaboration. She conveyed her sincere appreciation to the participating recruiters, recognising their significant contribution to the students' career prospects and the department’s placement endeavors.

The Department Training and Placement Officer for the batch Dr. Jasleen Kaur Bains added that persistent efforts are done by the faculty and staff round the clock by encouraging both innovative approaches to problem solving and personality grooming. The students are engaged in diverse activities ranging from weekly aptitude assessments, specially tailored workshops from Central Placement Cell on resume-building and personality development, mock interviews, periodic alumni interactions, pre-placement sessions to industry guided domain-specific training modules in form of semester projects. These initiatives played a crucial role in enhancing the placement readiness and overall confidence of the students of Master of Computer Applications and MSc (Hons) Computer Science, she added.

DCSA aims to expand its placement strategy by encouraging students for training in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Smart Space Designs and Cyber security, while strengthening ties with global recruiters and industry partners.
