Peaceful March from Rock Garden to Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, February 22, 2016: Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) Chandigarh Chapter took out a Peaceful March from Rock Garden to Sukhna Lake today in the evening at 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. against the students who raised anti national slogans in JNU Campus.
This Peaceful March lead by Pardeep Bansal & Raj Kishore, General Secretary Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) Chandigarh Chapter., Shashi Sharma, Vice President and Secretrary Dr. Sheenu Aggarwal, Anand Singla , Prof Salil Bansal, Lokesh Jain, Sushil aggarwal, K.S Bhatnagar, Col I. P Singh, Deepak Sharma, Dr. Nisha Sahi, Vagish, Sanjay Puri were also present during the Peaceful march.
Pardeep Bansal & Raj Kishore, General Secretary FANS who were leading this mach said that we are concerned with the objectionable slogans raised on 9th February 2016 at JNU. The echoes of such slogans have later been heard at Jadhavpur University and other places. In Kashmir, certain people have organized rallies titled ‘Thank you JNU’. We have read reports that such slogans may be repeated in other Universities and places. We support the Freedom of Expression guaranteed in the Constitution. However, this cannot include incitement to acts of violence or calls for the dismemberment of India.
They explained to the people that this is clearly an organized attempt by disruptive forces, possibly with foreign funding to attempt to balkanize India. A firm resolve is needed at all levels including the people and the Government to resist such attempts and to maintain the Unity and sovereignty of India. India is one Country and shall remain so. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Our ability to reach Unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization”. Our march is for ‘Unity of the Country’. It is to uphold the Constitution. While we support, the freedom of expression, this cannot be turned into a license for attempts to divide India.
People from various Organizations like Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, Akhil Bhartiya Aggarwal Sammelan, various Traders Welfare Association, Uttarakhand Sabha Chandigarh who ware also present there had approbated & welcomed this Peaceful March.They said that our commitment to the integrity of the Country has inspired us to assemble at Rock Garden today and held a Peaceful Marchto Sukhna Lake for a public meeting.
