PCTE organized Tailor it yourself Season 3- an exhibition cum sale

Ludhiana, January 31, 2018: The students of Fashion Design Department of PCTE Group of Institutes organized an exhibition cum sale titled ‘Tailor it Yourself- Season 3’ where around 100 students participated in the event and showcased a variety of products made by them. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Sonu Gandhi, a renowned Designer and Image consultant. The students came up with creative and innovative products which included gowns designed on Victorian theme, Scottish theme based winter skirts, old denims were used make skirts, bags and kits, India crafts such as Madhubani, Pattachitra to name a few were used to make Dairies, Mugs, Printed T Shirts etc, Block Printed products were also displayed at one stall, were the students also got orders for the same. Ms. Ruchi Chopra, Faculty, PCTE Group of Institutes said, “The main idea behind this exhibition was to give practical exposure to our students, to make them learn how to use various techniques in making different products and how to display and market the products”. She further said “Students have received excellent response from all the visitors. The students have also used waste material where they learn the concept of Green Design.” Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutions said, “We always encourage our students for the practical exposure. The exhibition that the fashion department has organized is a true example of putting their classroom learning in practical use. I congratulate the department on making this event a success.”
