Ludhiana, February 12, 2016: Ludhiana Management Association in collaboration with PCTE Group of Institutes organized the 7thseason of Dr. D R Singh Memorial British Parliamentary Debate. British Parliamentary Debate was first pioneered in India in 2008 by PCTE Group of Institutes.
About 32 teams from all over the country including IIT- Ropar, Institute of Management Technology - Ghaziabad, Law College - Dehradun, Management Institute For Leadership & Excellence-Pune, National Law School- Bangalore, Prestige Institute of Management and Research- Indore, Amity Law School- Delhi, Faculty of law ICFAI University- Dehradun, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University-Lucknow and many more checked in and participated in the mega literary fest.
It is amongst the most prestigious and the most challenging debate tournament in the region, with the cash prize worth Rs.1,50,000 sponsored by SEL Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. to be given away to the winners.
British Parliamentary Debate gives one the opportunity as a debater to gain wide perspectives, use a large knowledge base, and be able to offer views from multiple perspectives. The British parliamentary pattern is followed all over the world from and is typically carried out in the pattern of British, and most commonwealth countries, including the Indian Parliament House said Mr. Balraj S. The event was followed by a musical evening, a performance by Gippy Grewal, an Indian singer and film actor. His singingspreaded like a fire. Hundered of students danced for hours to some famous numbers like “Taur , Hello Hello , Patt Lainge , Jaan , Dil Tut Na Jaye and many more.
Dr. KNS Kang, President, LMA and Director, PCTE said that the Debate is a way to foster international understanding, cooperation, and a free and lively exchange of ideas. It breaks the national, economic, cultural and ethnic boundaries, showing that opposing views can be explored in a way that connects rather than divides people. Through these events students learn the art of being self reliant and develop a kind of competitive spirit of winning which in turn help them in facing the biggest challenges in their professional and personal life.
