PCTE organiaed 7th annual convocation

Students in jubilant mood during 7th annual convocation held at PCTE, Ludhiana on Friday.

Ludhiana, December 19, 2014: PCTE Group of Institute organised its First Open Air & Seventh Annual Convocation function at PCTE Campus-II. About 500 degrees were given to the graduates from different disciplines like PGDM, MBA, MBA-IB, MCA, M.Sc-IT, BBA, BCA, B.Sc ATHM, B-Pharmacy, and BHMCT.  His Excellency Tarcisius Eri, Ambassador, Papua New Guinea to India, chief guest of the event was present along with  Frank Falcon Lohia, First Secretary to the Ambassador guest of honour of the event. Dr K.N.S Kang, Director General PCTE Group of Institutes gave away the degrees to the students and Ambassador Eri gave away the prizes and college colors to meritorious students. Representation of students from 28 countries with their respective flags on campus was also done on the occasion.
In the convocation Geraldine, student of B.Pharmacy at PCTE from Zimbabwe was awarded with Wg.Cdr.H.S,Gill Memorial Gold Medal  along with Cash prize of Rs 10,000 for most  outstanding student of the college. Geraldine has also won Best International Student in Punjab Technical University in 2013. The award was given for excellence in academics, Cultural and extracurricular activities at college and national level. Prizes were given to students who bagged Gold medal in University exams. Vipul, who received college colors for exceptional performance in Literary events, Manvinder Singh who received college colors for performance in Dramatics & cultural events, performed exceptionally well in IIT Roorkee, Depinder Kaur, who received college colors for exceptional performance in sports and Simranjit Singh, student of BBA received college colors for performance in music.
“I just love the whole atmosphere at campus today as it is making me a nostalgic with old memories of fun, learning and experiences. I am also very happy to meet my batch mates after a long time” said Deepak Sharma, Alumni, MBA. 
Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes while congratulating the graduates said that this is the crucial stage of their life, as they are entering the professional world. He also wishes them luck for their future.Ambassador Tarcisius Eri, on the occasion while addressing the students said that there are lots of opportunities existing in the environment. What we need is right attitude and direction to grab them. Ambassador also said that we must develop ourselves as Global leaders not just geographically but by developing World class standards and ethical values.
