16 teams Ludhiana District and its nearby area participated in the tournament
Ludhiana, February 7, 2017: PCTE Baddowal team won the Football Fiesta tournament in a tough fight with GFC Jagroan team 3-1 in penalty shootout, organized by CT University at its campus premises on Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana. The winning team was felicitated with the prize money of Rs. 11,000 and the first runners up team with Rs.5,100.
In the 4-Day tournament 16 teams Ludhiana District and its nearby area participated including DFC Jagroan, Kothe Rahlan, Akhada, Chaukiman, Kothe Rahlan Mohee, Mullanpur, Rurka and others.
Dr Pravin Kumar (Head, Physical Education, CT Group of Institutions) congratulated the winning team of the tournament, said, “The tournament is organized with a motive to encourage the student’s interest towards different games.”
MTV Roadies X Winner Mr. Balraj Singh Khehra was also marked his presence at the event and boosted the morale of the players, he said, “Football is a wonderful game that needs to be uplifted and liked by our youngsters. The participating teams have enjoyed playing this sport and we are sure they will continue doing so.”
He said, “CT University stands tall among competitors with the entire advanced sports infrastructure at campus. For the overall development of students as well as to take care of their physical, mental and social well being sports are must. We believe the true road to permanent success in any sphere is to make yourself a master in that sphere.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) marked his presence on the concluding day. The winning as well as participating teams were awarded by the members of the management. All the teams showcased the perfect blend of sportsman spirit and enthusiasm at the grounds of CT University Campus. He wished the winning and all the participating teams of the tournament. He advocated the importance of sports in our life to ensure healthy mind, body and soul.
