PAU Student Gets Jain Irrigation Research Fellowship

Ludhiana, May 8, 2015: Sandeep Kumar Pandey, a Ph.D student (Soil and Water Engineering), Punjab Agricultural University has been awarded the coveted “Jain Irrigation Research Fellowship” by M/s Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. for pursuing doctoral research on "Design and evaluation of automated drip irrigation system." 

The fellowship amount will be Rs.17000/- per month for two years duration. Giving details of the proposed research, his Major Advisor Dr A.K Jain, Professor of Soil and Water Engineering, PAU said, “The sensor and valve based automated drip irrigation system, will be useful for achieving higher productivity with efficient utilization of water and would be economically viable for small and medium land holding farmers”.
