PAU MAKES HIGH QUALITY SEEDS OF BASMATI, MAIZE AND SOYBEAN VARIETIES AVAILABLE TO FARMERS

Ludhiana, June 2, 2017: The Director (Seeds) of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Dr T.S.Dhillon has advised the farmers of Punjab to sow high quality seeds, developed by PAU, for good profit. He informed the seeds of Pusa Basmati 1121, a high quality basmati variety; PMH 1, a maize hybrid; and SL 958, a soybean variety, are available at PAU for purchase at the price of Rs 40/kg, Rs 150/kg and Rs 30/kg, respectively. He said the seeds can be purchased for all seven days from the University Seed Shop, located near gate number 1 at the main campus. The seeds can also be purchased from Regional Research Stations, Seed Farms, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Farm Advisory Service Centres of the University, located in different parts of Punjab, he added.
