PAU, Ludhiana on Monday holds seminar on extension and research methods.

Ludhiana, March 30, 2015: A workshop-cum-seminar on “Extension and Research Methods” was organised at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The Department of Extension Education, PAU conducted the seminar wherein experts from Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab delivered lectures. The faculty and students of the department attended the seminar.

The Chief Guest, Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture appreciated the efforts of the department in the organization of the seminar.

Dr Rajinder Peshin, Associate Professor, Extension Education, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu spoke on “Evaluation Research: Theory and Research.” Dwelling on various types of evaluations, he shed light on research designs used in these evaluations and referred to practical case studies for their thorough understanding.

Delivering a talk on “Parenting,” Dr Gurminder Sokhey, Professor of Psychology, Punjabi University, Patiala said it is the most important ingredient for an individual’s overall development. She mentioned about different parental styles and their impact on children’s growth. Besides, she highlighted various parenting techniques to improve the individual’s behaviour.

Dr Kuldeep Singh Pandhu, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Noormahal shared his experiences regarding the functioning of KVKs and extension work at grass root level. He exhorted the students to serve the farming community with dedication.

Earlier, Dr Rajinder Kaur Kalra, Professor-cum-Head, Department of Extension Education welcomed the guest speakers, faculty and the students. Later, the seminar concluded with the fruitful interaction among the experts and the participants.
