PAU To Hold First Kisan Mela At Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri

Ludhiana, September 8, 2016: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organize its first Regional Kisan Mela at Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri, district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on September 9. Dr S.S. Gosal, Member, Board of Management, PAU, will be the chief guest on the occasion and Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, will preside over the mela. Dr Manmohanjit Singh, Director, Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri, said farmers can visit various research and demonstration plots at the mela. Besides, an impressive exhibition will be organized by different departments of the University, he told. On this occasion, the seeds of improved crop varieties and seedlings of fruit plants will also be sold to the farmers, he added. Large number of farmers and farm women, central/state government officers, University experts and other dignitaries will participate in the mela. This occasion will provide an excellent opportunity to expose farming community to the latest technologies, he said.
