PAU ENGINEERS ORGANIZE WALKATHON TO SAVE ENVIRONMENT FROM STUBBLE BURNING

LUDHIANA: The Alumni Association, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) along with Student Alumni Coordination Committee organized a walkathon “Agrineers Walk
and Pledge for Environment” today to convey the message on environmental issues, especially, crop residue. Around 200 engineers including alumni, faculty, and students participated in the event.
The walkathon commenced from the front lawns of the College building at 7:00 am and was approximate of 40 minutes duration. The Dean of the College, Dr.Jaskarn Singh Mahal highlighted the importance of engineering interventions in tackling the menace of stubble burning.
He also shared the role played by the agricultural engineers and Punjab Agricultural University in providing the solution to this problem at the national level. A pledge was also taken by all present to protect the environment.
