Chandigarh: The Panjab University (PU) Yoga training camps are getting huge response and more than one thousand participants are regularly attending the six Yoga training camps at the PU campus.
PU is organising Yoga training camps at the PU Cricket Ground, PU Shooting range, Girls Hostels No 2, 5 & 8 and Boys Hostel No. 8. The Yoga training camps are open for the students, teachers, staff members, alumni and general public.
The Yoga training camps are being conducted by the PU Dean Students Welfare and the PU Directorate of Sports. The participants are being trained in the camp as a run up to the International Yoga Day Celebration in which the Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations in Chandigarh on June 21, 2016.
PU Dean Students Welfare Prof Navdeep Goyal informed that as many as 2,512 PU participants have already got registered for the International Yoga Day Celebration.
He informed that PU is fully geared up for the International Yoga Day Celebration and 60 identified group leaders visited capitol complex. About 600 more participants are expected to be registered, he added.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover has called upon the students, research scholars, staff members and their families to register themselves for the International Yoga Day Celebrations. June 8, 2016 is the last date for registering for the International Yoga Day Celebrations.
Prof Grover said that PU would conduct the Yoga Training Camp on regular basis through out the year so that more of students, teachers and general public could learn yoga.
