Panjab University to host first round of Regional Mathematical Olympiad on September 4, 2016

Chandigarh, July 29, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh would host the first round of Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) on September 4, 2016 from 2 PM to 5 PM.
The students of class XI can apply latest by September 1, 2016 at the PU Department of Mathematics. Some really meritorious students of class X and IX may also apply.
A training camp will be organized for the selected candidates, which will be followed by R.M.O. 2nd round to be held on October 16, 2016. For further details the students may contact the Regional Coordinator, Prof. Vinod Kumar Grover, Department of Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The test for the Chandigarh centre will be held at University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Academic Block II, Sector 25, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh. This will be followed by more rounds leading to international mathematical Olympiad.
The RMO is an important opportunity for senior secondary students having flair for Mathematics. It is an offer for which the students can prove their skills and win medals in the International mathematical Olympiad, Asia Pacific Maths Olympiad and
European Girls Maths Olympiad. It is an opportunity to participate in a competition and to assess their performance in a test environment that is stimulating but non- threatening and leads to international recognition for those who really deserve.
