Ludhiana, September 4, 2015: The Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a one-day workshop on “Preparation/Updation of SREP ((Strategic Research & Extension Plan)” today for the benefit of extension officials from ATMA and State Agriculture Department. A total of 51 extension officials participated in this workshop. Dr Nirankar Singh, JDA (E&T), Punjab inaugurated the workshop and interacted with participants.
Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI welcomed the participants, explained the objectives of the workshop and chapter-wise description of SREP. He explained the importance of SREP and said it is the basis for development of work plans at block/ district level.
Dr T.S. Riar, Associate Professor of Extension Education explained the concept of SREP in detail.
Dr Lopamudra Mohapatra, extension specialist, PAU discussed the different steps for SREP preparation. He also dwelt on participatory tools and techniques for primary and secondary data collection.
Dr B.S. Chahal, District Training Officer, Kapurthala discussed various issues regarding operationalization of SREP.
