Painting competition on water conservation for school children to be organised

Chandigarh, September 20, 2012: The Education Department Punjab has decided to conduct painting competition in collaboration with Ministry of Water Resources in the schools to create awareness on water conservation amongst the children.

The painting competition would be conducted at school, state and national levels as part of the campaign. The painting competition would make the children aware about need of conserving this precious resource.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of education department said that the theme of school level painting competition would be the water &climate change, save water from pollution and water security. He also said that the painting competition would be open for class 4th to 6th students. All participants would be given the certificates.

The spokesman further said that the state level winners and national level winners would be awarded with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd of Rs. 10,000. Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 5,000, respectively and 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 would also be awarded. 

He further said that the school principal would organize painting competition of two hours duration in their schools and school principals would select 3 best paintings and send them along with information on number of students participants at school level competition and their names at the address of Nodal Officer, Central Ground Water Board, Plot No-3B, Sector-27A Chandigarh by 20th October 2012.
