Orientation Programme on the theme of Career in Civil Services
Jalandhar, February 27, 2019: Post Graduate Department of History, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, in association with the Next IAS, New Delhi, organized an interactive lecture to make aware about fundamentals of this exam to students. The programme was organized as per the directions of college Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra with the consideration of the current scenario wherein most of the students dream to join the Indian Administration Services but they do not know how to prepare for this one of the most difficult exam of the country. Considering this need of the students, Mr. Shubham Aggarwal (IPS 2017) and Mr. Pulkit (IES 2015) batch were the key speakers on this occasion. Dr. Suman Chopra, Head of the PG Department of History, in her welcome address motivated the students to work hard and give their best efforts to realize their dreams whilst hoping for a bright future for students aspiring to join the patriotic service. In his speech, Mr. Pulkit introduced the broader contours of the civil services exam. He explained the nature of exam and the various strategy based aspects of the same. Shubhum Aggarwal also narrated his success story to the students. An overwhelming response was visible among the students on this occasion and the queries of students were also duly answered by speakers. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Jasreen Kaur, College Dean for Academic Affairs. The stage was managed by Dr. Karanbir Singh. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, Prof. Suraj Bhagat, Dr. S.S. Bains, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar and Dr. Harjeet Singh.
