One IAS and four PCS Officers charge sheeted
Chandigarh, November 4, 2014: The Punjab Government today issued charge sheet for major penalty to one IAS and four PCS officers for allegedly causing financial loss to the government during the year 2007-2009 when they were posted as District Transport Officers in different districts.
According to an official spokesperson Chander Gaind IAS, Presently posted as Special Secretary Higher Education, Vinod Kumar Setia presently posted as SDM, Baba Bakala, Parmjit Singh PCS presently posted as SDM Kapurthala, Manmohan Singh Kang presently posted as SDM Gurdaspur and Jasbir Singh-1 PCS presently posted as Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Amritsar have been chargesheeted by the order of the Chief Minister & order Parkash Singh Badal.
Giving the details spokesperson said that special internal audit conducted in DTO office Ludhiana found that Chander Gaind caused a loss of Rs. 26.81 lakh to the government due to his failure to recover taxes during their tenure. Similarly Vimal Kuamr Setia PCS during his posting as DTO Amritsar and other districts from 1-04-2007 to 31-12-2009 caused a financial loss of Rs. 85.39 lakh to the state exchequer. Mr. Parmjit Singh during his posting of DTO Amritsar and Ludhiana from 1-04-2007 to 31-12-2009 caused a loss of Rs. 87.09 lakh. Similarly the internal audit found that Mr. Manmohan Singh Kang PCS during his posting as DTO Amritsar and other districts caused a financial loss of Rs. 82.89 lakh to the state exchequer. The spokesperson said that similarly in the case of Jasbir Singh-1 PCS, audit pointed out that he caused a financial loss of Rs.82.89 lakh to the state exchequer.
