Officer Told To Disclose Inherited Property In Their Property Returns

Chandigarh, April 22, 2015: The Punjab Government has reiterated its instructions to all Punjab Civil Services officer to disclose their inherited property in their Property Returns.
According to communiqué issued by Personnel Department it was reiterated that according to Punjab Government Employees’ Conduct Rule (1966) all PCS officers have to mention the property in their Property Returns whether it was owned by him or inherited by him or was mortgaged to him or was sold or purchased by any family members as mentioned in the rules.
The spokesperson said that despite repeated instructions government has noticed that officers were not mentioning property in their property returns in contravention of conduct rules and government has taken a serious view of this.
The spokesperson said that instructions have been issued to all PCS officers to timely complete property returns on the required Performa for the year 2014-15 and income accrued from the property should also be mentioned column 12 of the Performa and said that no incomplete Performa would be accepted by government.
