MP Ravneet Singh Bittu also offered condolences to those who have lost family members in the incident and called it an attempt to disturb peace in Punjab. “The desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was also carried by people who do not want Punjab to flourish. Some Khalistan sympathisers like Baljit Singh Daduwal are doing petty politics over this sensitive issue and it is now a proven fact that he is getting funds for carrying out such dubious activities from abroad. The Congress government in Punjab is keeping a close watch on the activities of all such persons,” Bittu said. He said that the attack on the sect’s Bhawan is a cowardly act and strongly condemned it. He appealed to the people of Punjab to maintain peace in wake of this incident and urged them not to panic and to remain calm. “It is a reprehensible act of violence and we will not let the forces of terror destroy our hard earned peace,” he said.
