Kapurthala, October 6, 2017: Terming that leader of opposition and Aam Aadmi Party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira has no credibility amongst the people, the Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh today said no one takes Mr. Khaira seriously.
Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of a function here today, the Minister said that Sukhpal Khaira was a chronic ‘attention seeker’ and could utter anything just for the sake of hogging media limelight. He said that everyone knows that Khaira addicted towards publicity so no one bothers about what he says. Rana Gurjeet Singh said that it was ironic that the leader of opposition has neither faith in government nor in Judiciary.

The Minister said that Khaira was free to go anywhere to file any petition as it was his democratic right. However, Rana Gurjeet Singh said that he would come clean out of all these tantrums being adopted by Khaira to grab the attention of media. He also advised Khaira to peep inside himself before leveling any allegations on somebody adding that the people of Bholath assembly segment would teach a befitting lesson to Khaira at an appropriate time.
On another query, the Minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was always committed for safeguarding the interests of the farmers of the state. He said that the Chief Minister has recently met the Union Agriculture Minister to pursue the state’s request for compensation to farmers for paddy straw management. Rana Gurjeet Singh said that this reflects the seriousness of the Chief Minister to protect the interests of the food growers of the state in wake of the judgment by the National Green Tribunal banning the burning of straw in Punjab. He also slammed the opposition for misleading the farmers on this grave issue.
