Ludhiana, May 13, 2015: In present times, there has been a phenomenal increase in rising of healthcare costs and many people get deprived of getting required medical treatment due to rising health care costs. In one such case, patient Asha Rani, age 43 years a resident of VPO Banewal from Tehsil Garh Shankar, District Hoshiarpur got admitted in Hero DMC Heart Institute with presenting complaint of multiple syncope (unconsciousness) for the past many months. On medical examination, it was found that she was suffering from poor heart pumping and complete heart block for which she needed Urgent pacemaker Implantation.

Patient Asha Rani’s husband has very meager source of income and it was  for her family to bear the cost of having pacemaker. According to treating doctors Dr.Bishav Mohan and Dr. Naved Aslam, had the patient not used the pacemaker, her condition would have deteriorated and can lead to loss of life.

Keeping in view patient’s inability to get further treatment for her heart ailment, it was decided by the Managing Society of DMCH & HDHI to get her pacemaker implant free of cost and after undergoing the required procedure, the patient is doing well and leading a normal life.

According to Secretary of DMCH Managing Society, Sh Prem Kumar Gupta DMCH has always been on the forefront of alleviating human suffering. He further said that a dedicated team of doctors at DMCH & Hero DMC Heart Institute along with state of the art infrastructure, cutting edge technology provide care to patients at an affordable cost.

Chief Cardiologist Dr GS Wander said that we at HDHI believe in patient care at its top most priority. Such moments are very satisfactory when a deserving patient gets required treatment in inspite of his or her financial constraints.
