CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 30, 2017: The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr.Navjot Singh Sidhu has expressed deep shock over the demise of eminent folk singer Gurpal Singh Pal.
In a statement here today, deeply condoling the demise of the singer, Mr.Sidhu said that Gurpal Singh Pal was an exceptional singer devoted to the mother tongue Punjabi and his sad demise has left a left void in the singing, art and cultural circuit of Punjab. He also said that the songs sung by the singer enriched the Punjabi music scene and his songs became much popular. Adding more, Mr.Sidhu said that such prominent singers were instrumental in the popularization of the Punjabi language at international fora. The minister prayed to the almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this enormous loss.

It is worth mentioning that Gurpal Singh Pal passed away yesterday. His song 'Pali paani khooh ton bharey' became very popular and was considered his finest.
