Dr. Dilbag Singh, Professor and HOD Mechanical Engineering Department of Beant College of Engg & Tech, Gurdaspur in his Guest lecture emphasised that globalization has created a new landscape for Industry, because of fierce competition, short windows of market opportunity and frequent changes in product demand. New and highly customized product styles are demanded with ever-shortening life cycles with no compromise on quality and cost. To cope with such a dynamic market scenario, many new manufacturing system paradigms are being proposed and tried; newer ways to redesign and re-plan manufacturing systems are being devised. Continuous advancements in materials and manufacturing technologies are proving supportive in finding newer ways of doing, managing and remaining in business. Application of computers and incorporation of electronic/Mechatronics systems has further changed the way the Manufacturing Systems were traditional perceived and managed. Dr. Lakhveer Singh, Professor Baba Banda singh College of Engg & Tech Fatehgah Sahib has delivered an expert talk on Manufacturing systems. CAMS-2015 has been planned to provide an interdisciplinary platform to professionals, academicians and research scholars to deliberate on all related issues. The scope of the conference is related to its tracks but not limited to these.
