Motorsport: Clean sweep by Nayan

Hyderabad, May 10 (IANS) The 2014 Kart Racing season started with bang here Saturday with Mumbai's Nayan Chatterjee of Rayo Racing dominating as he won all the five races in the senior category to lead the series with 50 points in the JK Tyre-MMS Kart Open series.

Chatterjee qualified on pole ahead of his team-mate Brad Dias of Goa. In third was Dhruv Mohite of Mohite's Racing, Kolhapur. The Mumbai lad had a poor start in the first race, but clawed his way back to win and then extended his domination to win the other four races.

Yash Aradhya of Meco Racing and Ricky Donison of Team BPC won Round 1 in the Micro and Junior categories, respectively. Each of them won four out of five races and have 48 points.

Round 2 will be conducted Sunday when another five races will be held.

Seniors -A1. Nayan Chatterjee (50 points. Rayo Racing); 2. Krishna Mahadik (45, Mohites Racing); 3. Dhruv Mohite (39, Mohites Racing).

Junior -A1. Ricky Donison (48, BPC); 2. Akash Gouda (45, Meco Racing); 3. Aaroh Ravindra (41, Rayo Racing).

Micro -A1. Yash Aradhya (48, Meco Racing); 2. Shahaan Mohsin (45, Meco Racing); 3. Paul Francis (42, Meco Racing).
