Motivate children to join schools: Dr.Raju

Ferozepur, September 21, 2012: The children who have been deprived of education due to certain reasons or those who are not going to schools with one or another reasons, may be identified and motivated to join schools so that no child is left without education.

These orders were given by the deputy commissioner-cum-chairman, Sarv Sikhya Abhiyan Authority, Dr.S.Karuna Raju, in a district level meeting held today. 

In this meeting Pritam Singh Johal, ADC (Dev.), Lachhman Dass Kamboj and BPEOs of the district were present.

Deputy Commissioner ordered the officers of the Education Department to bring more improvement in the mid-day meal being given to the children and remove the discrepancies as per the complaints being received in this behalf. 

The education department officers said, in the district, 2 KJBV hostel, 1 in Govt. Girls Secondary School and 1 in Govt. Secondary School, Mamdot are working in which the deserving students of 6th to 8th class are provided free lodging and boarding. 

 

DC further said, under SSA, grant of Rs.19 lakhs has been received under SSA which will be spent on sports, health and martial arts and other activities.

Another grant of Rs.9.34 lakhs have been received in the district for SC/ST students for martial arts and other curricular activities. 

He further said a project under the name “Primary Education Reforms” is being started, under which school results will be further improved.  He also said that teachers of all the blocks of the district have been made aware about the Right to Education Act and other projects.

Deputy Commissioner instructed to the officers to properly utilise the funds received under the SSA so that students are fully benefited.
