Miri Piri Kabaddi Club, Kapurthala lifts winning trophy of Kabaddi match hosted by CT Group of Institutions

Jalandhar, February 3, 2015: Miri Piri Kabaddi Club, Kapurthala won the Kabaddi Match hosted by CT Group of Institutions at its Shahpur Campus on Monday. In a neck to neck match, the winning team beat the opponent Sant Ishar Singh Kabaddi Academy, Rarra Sahib team.

The event was organised by Sukh Pandher from Canada. The winning team was felicitated by the prize money.

The highlight of the event was live performance by Punjabi Singer Money Aujla during the match. He presented his famous tracks like December, London, Siftaan, Jatti Reloaded and others at the event. He advised the youngsters to avoid the use of drugs and opt for sports activities to get healthy life.

The event saw a good response as many students gathered during the match. While some gasped for breath in the ground; the others cheered the teams as onlookers.

Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson), Manbir Singh (Managing Director), Tanika Channi, Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman), Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director) and Sukh Pandher from Canada was Chief Guest for the event. Sukh Pandher said, “Kabaddi might not have managed to carve a niche like several other sports on the international platform, but in India, especially Punjab, Kabaddi is certainly a rage among other sports.” He said, “The ambience and infrastructural facilities are very commendable at CT Group of Institutions. This is the reason that we decided to organise this match at their premises.”

Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “CT Group of Institutions makes a regular attempt to organise sports-related activities to enable physical fitness among their students and to ensure that the life of their students is not limited to books and labs. Though, in this match the students haven’t participated but they enjoyed and got to know about the age old game of Punjab.”
