Mental health problem have grown manifold: Dr Rupesh Chaudhary
Ludhiana, October 9, 2018: World Mental Health Day is being observed tomorrow on 10th October. On this occasion, Dr Rupesh Chaudhary (Professor of Psychiatry, DMCH, Ludhiana) said that today mental health problem have grown manifold and awareness needs to be generated among people to identify mental health issues. It is a myth in our country that anyone who goes to psychiatrist for consultation is considered as ‘insane’ person but like any other physical illness, this illness should treated accordingly and proper treatment should be taken of metal disorders by a qualified psychiatrist. Today, due to our overdependence on electronic gadgets, life has become all the more complicated and everyone from teenager to adult are falling in this deadly trap. A need is there to regulate our life style and adopt ‘moderation’ in every sphere of life. The studies in schools are also so tough and competitive that young students also need to know techniques to de-stress themselves and lead a balanced life. The theme of ‘World Metal Health Day’ on this year is `Young people and mental health in a changing world’.
