Ferozepur, January 8, 2013: Panchyat Union has demanded the allowances to Panches and Sarpanches on the pattern of Kerala Government besides starting the development works and discussing about the excesses of bureaucracy.
Addressing a seminar, State President, Harminder Singh Mavi after listening to the problems of Panches and Sarpanches, assured to solve the same. The demands include to pay allowance of Rs.10,000 to Sarpanch and Rs.2,500 to Panch per month on the pattern of Kerala Government.
Narinder Singh Bajwa, state general secretary, Dalwinder Singh Ludhiana, vice president Punjab, Sukhwinder Singh Bulendeswali, district president, Gurjit Singh Cheema, president block Ferozepur, Gucharan Singh Nahar, Sarpanch Panchayat Officer, union spokesman Dilbagh Singh Virk and others demanded to bring 29 departments under Panchayati Raj and release of special grant of Rs.3 lakh to the Panchayats who selected its members unanimously in 2008.
